Fashion Enthusiasts to Choose Flipkart over Myntra and Jabong for Shopping?

Flipkart is one of the most popular e-commerce websites of India. The fashion department of Flipkart has always been rivaled by Myntra and Jabong, two other top fashion brands providers. But, recently due its top notch deals and authentic products and better customer relations, Flipkart beat the mentioned two in the fashion category. The superiority of the e-commerce giant in the mentioned genre has become clearer because of a recent announcement done by Flipkart, where it has been officially stated by it that it has earned revenue greater than $1 billion in fashion category. According to the latest statistics if this news is true then Myntra and Jabong are already trailing by a whopping amount of $1.2 billion GMV combined of both of them.

According to Flipkart, it has witnessed an increase in growth of 35 % in case of fashion category in the market. They also mentioned that they believe the main reasons behind their this successful growth rate are –
  • Their exclusive range of products which is increasing by each passing day
  • Big discounts on top brands and trends
  • Faster deliveries than before with greater safety arrangement for the products to avoid any travelling damage.
The pace of sale has become almost double for tier-II markets along with in metros. But, Flipkart Offers is not stopping here only which is a bad news for Myntra and Jabong. As per Mr. Rishi Vasudev, the head of Flipkart’s Fashion wing, they are planning to increase their revenue to $1.7 billion in the next year from $1 billion in this year. They are so much certain to attain that goal because they already seen a growth of 60 % in the last 5 months as Mr. Rishi Vasudev said in his interview.
As any other experienced personnel Mr. Rishi Vasudev has also denied the rivalry among Flipkart and Myntra and jabong saying that Myntra is primarily concerned for fashion focused clients. Whereas Flipkart is building itself as a common destination for all the top trends in fashion within affordable price ranges.

These three mentioned companies i.e. Flipkart, Jabong, and Myntra hold the combined share of 60 % of the fashion market. The whole fashion market was estimated to earn revenue of $3.1 billion in 2017 and it is only reasonable to think that the revenue will increase this year. Flipkart has built its fashion wing strong enough to fly in the seventh sky of profit. Another reason of Flipkart’s superior sale than Myntra and Jabong is its diversity of products. Flipkart is a horizontal e-commerce platform i.e. it has products other than the fashion category. So, people came in search of some grocery products or tech stuff also ends up shopping in fashion by lured in through various amazing deals on top brands. Myntra and Jabong being solely dependent only on fashion brands lack this advantage of collateral marketing.

As per the latest news, Flipkart is planning to concentrate more to its non-metro customers so that it can attain a more number of new clients in their arsenal. The main objective is to get more and more customers by offering a large range of products mainly branded ones within the reach of common affordable prices. According to the market research Flipkart is going to make almost 20 % of its fashion vertical’s stock branded and exclusive.
In these circumstances obviously customers are bending towards Flipkart Today's Offer an if the competitors want to grab a share of the market at least in the near future then they too have to come up with a plan otherwise it will be just giving up the competition to Flipkart.
